STATEMENT
My landscapes, figures and portraits capture a joyous celebration and a deep reverence for the blessings of each day. My work expresses a sense of excitement and energy that come from the intimacy of my surroundings. Honesty in my work is of the utmost importance, and is conveyed by my ability to capture the emotion of the moment.
BIOGRAPHY
Although mostly self taught, Lori’s training includes University of Wisconsin/Sheboygan, workshops, studio experience with Dan Gerhartz and many other fine teachers. Her bold vibrant style is influenced by artists such as Joaquin Sorolla, Nicolai Fechin and John Singer Sargent. Lori is a founding member of the Plymouth, Wisconsin Art Center, which was formed in 1993 and now has over 500 members. She paints in plein air (from life) throughout the year, primarily in Wisconsin. Her travels have taken her to various painting locations within the states along with Mexico and France. In addition to painting full time, she finds great joy in teaching. You can study with her at The Academy of Fine Art in Denmark, Wisconsin, The Plymouth (Wisconsin) Art Center and in her Wisconsin studio.
